Fans were hyped when Wednesday was announced as a Netflix series and when the show debuted last week, it did not disappoint audiences who tuned in. With the success of its first season on Netflix, fans are already waiting for the second season. In an interview with TV Line, series co-creator Miles Millar shared he and Alfred Gough felt like they “just touched the surface” with the members of the Addams Family. Most of the first season was spent introducing Wednesday’s new classmates and the teachers over at Nevermore Academy, with brief appearances from the members of her family. Morticia Addams, Gomez Addams, Pugsley Addams, and Uncle Fester were present in the series but they didn’t get much screen time. Thing was arguably the only household member that had a significant role in the first season of Wednesday. The series co-creators did recognize their outstanding performance in the series. “The actors are so amazing in those roles,” Miles Millar said. “Catherine is, I think, an iconic Morticia. The relationship between Wednesday and Morticia is also essential to the show, and the idea that Wednesday is trying to forge her own path outside the family is important.” “The series is really about a girl who sees the world in black and white, and learning there are shades of gray,” Gough shared. “I think like any relationship or any friendship, it can get complicated by other factors. It’s never going to be smooth sailing. And it’s really her learning to navigate the ups and downs of friendship.” Jenna Ortega’s performance as the titular character earned her praise, with many fans taking to Twitter.

The first season left the door open for many to return, and this being an Addams family show, even the dead characters may come back to life. Hopefully, Netflix decides to renew the series soon as fans are already excited to see Jenna Ortega and the rest of the crew return for another season.
