Diesel’s caption read “On set photo… brother sister. Less than 2 months away from the FastX trailer launch!!!” Given that he made the post on Tuesday, December 27, the trailer for Fast X could come at any time before the end of February. Some speculate it will happen at Super Bowl LVII on February 12. Fast X will be the penultimate film in the Fast and Furious franchise with the final film, Fast & Furious 11, scheduled for release in February 2024. The film will have one of the biggest budgets of all time with $340 million. At the moment, there’s no information on its plot, but as always, fans can expect the film to feature different locations around the globe and, of course, the series’ signature action scenes. What’s more? Vin Diesel has stated he wants the final film to be the best movie ever made.
A post shared by Vin Diesel (@vindiesel) Apart from familiar faces, Fast X will star Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Rita Moreno, Alan Ritchson, and Jason Momoa. The Aquaman actor is set to play the villain in Fast X. The Fast and the Furious franchise began in 2001 and has since gone on to gross over $6 billion making it the eighth highest-grossing series of all time. It has spawned a spin-off movie, an animated television series, two short films, video games, toys, a theme park, and several other media. Fast X will be directed by Louis Leterrier whose work includes the first two Transporter films as well as the 2013 heist drama film Now You See Me. Leterrier was appointed as director following the exit of Justin Lin, a frequent franchise collaborator, due to creative differences in the film’s script with Diesel and Universal Pictures. Speaking of the Fast and the Furious franchise, Universal Pictures reportedly wants to do an all-female film. It’s unclear if this is related to the rumors that Gal Gadot will come back and play a huge role in Fast X.
