What is Slither.io?
Slither.io is a mobile game that is a spiritual successor to the old classic Snake and the more recent Agar.io. Developed by Steve Howse, the objective of the game is to guide your snake avatar on the map, consuming pellets along the way. And just like in classic Snake, these pellets make your snake grow longer. Of course, the longer your snake is, the harder it is to maneuver the map. If the snake avatar collides with the borders at the edge of the map, it dies. One major difference with classic Snake is that Slither.io has a multiplayer element. Competing with other players at the same time while navigating the play area increases the challenge and entertainment value. Note that if your snake avatar’s head collides with an opposing player’s, your snake dies, exploding in a shower of colorful debris. In addition, the death of a snake avatar leaves a different kind of pellet. This pellet is brighter than the normal pellet and has the same color as the avatar that spawned it. Plus, consuming these special pellets will make your snake avatar grow longer than the normal ones. This adds an additional layer of strategy, as the longer your snake avatar is, the more likely that your rival players will collide with its body. Note that if the snake avatar dies from hitting the borders of the map, it does not leave pellets behind. Another option not available in classic Snake is the ability to boost your avatar’s speed. This boost lasts as long as the player holds it once triggered. Releasing the hold will end the speed bump. However, using this speed boost will cost some of the length the snake avatar gained. The player with the last surviving snake avatar on the map wins. A leaderboard keeps track of the players with the longest and largest snake avatars on the map and at the end of the day.
What are Slither.io codes?
Slither.io developer Steve Howse releases codes from time to time. These codes are often distributed on social media or through the homepage. These codes unlock cosmetic items for your snake avatar. These cosmetics include hats, masks, eyewear, and skins. There are no codes for Slither.io that have actual gameplay effects, so they are all just for the aesthetic value.
