A year after releasing Subnautica: Below Zero, fans have spotted Unknown Worlds hiring for a senior narrative designer. The job posting indicates that the applicant will help in the development and story of the third Subnautica game. The post also confirms that the new Subnautica project takes place in the same universe. Fans are now curious where Subnautica 3 will take place following 2018’s lush tropical area and last year’s ice-filled barren wasteland.
Come and join our fully remote studio and let’s make great games together. Check out the full job description here 🔽 https://t.co/SfOKSmKpkT — Unknown Worlds (@UnknownWorlds) April 7, 2022 Unknown Worlds Entertainment has made a name spending years working on its games in Early Access before releasing them to the public. The first two Subnautica games spent four and two years in Early Access, respectively. The next Subnautica game should go through the same development process as well. Ultimately, Unknown Worlds has proven that it knows the survival genre like the back of its hands. Even if the third Subnautica game takes place in a “new science fiction world” other than 4546-B, as teased by the job listing, fans know that the studio will deliver. The good news is that the massive universe that Unknown Worlds have built over the years is full of stories to tell. Much more so if you take into account the theory that Subnautica takes place in the same universe as the Natural Selection series. In the meantime, Subnautica fans can keep themselves busy by playing the first two games, which still have plenty of mystery left to uncover.
