According to AccountNGT, Sony is working on new installments of Sly Cooper and Infamous games. Unfortunately, this was all that they had to say about these first-party Sony exclusives. They could not confirm if the games are being developed by Sucker Punch or if Sony had already assigned them to their several other studios. However, AccountNGT did state that Sony could reveal more about the new Sly Cooper and Infamous titles at an unannounced PlayStation event soon, which could be the same one that’s rumored to take place later this month. Of course, as Sony hasn’t confirmed this information at all, take it with a grain of salt.

— AccountNGT (@accngt) March 2, 2022 For newer gamers, Sly Cooper and Infamous are two IPs that Sucker Punch Productions worked on for PlayStation consoles many years ago. The former are stealth-based platformers revolving around the adventures of the titular character. Sucker Punch would end up making three Sly Cooper games for the PlayStation 2 before moving on to focus on the Infamous games for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, despite the commercial and critical success of 2014’s Infamous Second Son for the PS4, Sucker Punch ended up spending the next half-decade working on 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima, which received a Director’s Cut last year for the PS5. While Ghost of Tsushima is widely considered one of the best games of its generations, fans who grew up with the PlayStation brand still have fond memories of the Sly Cooper and Infamous titles. When you think about the success of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, which, until last year, was a relatively “forgotten” first-party Sony franchise, it would make sense for Sony to dig deep into its treasure trove of IPs to bolster the PS5’s ranks going forward. In other Sony news, there might be credence to what people are saying about the tech giant preparing for a big March. A few days ago, Sony confirmed a solid lineup of freebies for PS Plus subscribers this March. Meanwhile, PS Now just got its first notable day one launch title in Shadow Warrior 3. We definitely wouldn’t be surprised if all the rumors end up being true and Sony holds a big showcase soon.
