With E3 2022 no longer happening, Microsoft was one of the first to step up to the plate to give gamers a semblance of the annual showcase. The Xbox and Bethesda showcase, which is scheduled on June 12, will see Microsoft share new trailers and info about its upcoming games. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that a second showcase will take place on June 14, just two days later. The official Xbox Wire blog post reveals that the second presentation will be a 90-minute broadcast filled with “deeper looks at the news from the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase and speak with some of your favorite game creators.” TLDR; the June 14 will likely feature extra footage and behind-the-scenes interviews - not new trailers and surprise reveals. The Xbox Games Extended Showcase will go live on June 14 at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM BST / 7:00 PM CEST.
— Xbox (@Xbox) June 6, 2022 This isn’t the first time that Microsoft has adopted a similar approach. Microsoft was the big highlight of E3 2021 with a follow-up Extended Showcase specifically designed to cater to those who like more in-depth looks at upcoming video games. We can expect Microsoft to do the same this year following the positive reception from last year’s showcase. Speaking of showcases, Sony was the first to kick off June with its own State of Play. The main rival of Microsoft revealed a bunch of PSVR 2 games along with the likes of Resident Evil 4 Remake, Final Fantasy XVI, Stray, as well as the PC port of Marvel’s Spider-Man. We don’t think that Microsoft will let this slide, but before its turn, we can look forward to the Summer Game Fest on June 10 and the Future Game Show on June 11.
