Unfortunately, Vanguard Zombies has fallen way short of the spin-off usual standards. Although you could argue that the Call of Duty community is generally unhappy with the state of the game, prompting Activision Blizzard to apologize, that excuse can only go so much when players specifically single out Vanguard Zombies after every update. The situation with Vanguard Zombies has gotten so bad that even bringing back the Ray Gun to the game wasn’t enough to make fans happy.
After Activision Blizzard confirmed the arrival of Season 2 of Warzone Pacific and Vanguard, including the return of the Ray Gun as a Wonder Weapon, Zombies lovers couldn’t help but continue expressing their disappointment. In particular, a Redditor said it best when he mentioned that Activision shouldn’t have to put the Ray Gun on a road map. Admittedly, the Ray Gun is a minuscule addition to be found on a road map of a marquee title. Not to mention, as other players mentioned, Activision should have included Ray Gun in Vanguard Zombies right from the start. The Ray Gun is a quintessential part of the Zombies experience by Treyarch. Even if Vanguard isn’t technically Treyarch’s game, the studio should have done more to make sure that Vanguard Zombies honored the spin-off’s legacy. Instead, Vanguard Zombies might go down as the worst iteration of the Zombies modes, which is a shame after so many fans loved Black Ops Cold War Zombies. In other Call of Duty news, a meeting with content creators confirmed that Activision is going to reveal Call of Duty: Warzone 2 soon. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s CEO just expressed his interest to bring Activision Blizzard’s games to the Nintendo Switch.
