There have been issues with game performance on consoles too, with the framerate being locked at 30fps. Consoles players do not have a performance mode option to boost frame rates, while lowering graphics quality, either.
Some players have opted to just purchase the game for PC instead. However, Gotham Knights is also demanding, resource-wise, for PC players. It requires a mid-range gaming PC just to run 60fps at 1080p.
PC system requirements
PC players may be happy to know that Gotham Knights will not be frame locked as it is on consoles. For most games, the question many have is “can my PC run the game on high settings?” With Gotham Knights, the average gamer will be asking, “can I run the game at all?”. The minimum requirements to run the game at low settings are a GTX 1660 Ti or Radeon RX 590 GPU and a Core i5-9600K or Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. These minimum requirements can run medium to high settings on most newer games. To run the game at 1080p and 60fps on high settings, you will need to have at least an Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. This means you need a serious gaming rig to run at a higher resolution and frame rate. If you want to run Gotham Knights at 4K on Ultra settings at a higher framerate, you may need a gaming rig that is on par with Henry Cavill’s PC. The system requirements for Gotham Knights may prove problematic in terms of sales numbers. While the game is $60 on Steam, the price of an RTX 2070 is still $400, and this will only get you 1080p and 60fps. What’s worse, according to the most recent Steam Hardware Survey, the most common GPU is still the GTX 1060 which will simply not cut it for Gotham Knights. One has to wonder what kind of graphics the has, to demand such a high system requirement. The average gamer will not be able to play the game at 60fps at 1080 on a 6-core 2.3Ghz CPU with a GTX 1060 which is the most common PC spec on Steam. The required specs may turn off a lot of players wanting to try out the title. In comparison, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is releasing on PC and the recommended specs to run the game are an Intel Core i5-4670 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600, with an Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580. The recommended specs will run at 1080p resolution with 60fps, and medium settings. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which launches next week, will have a recommended system spec of Intel i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1400, with an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580. This should let it run on high for most settings, and be stable at 60fps. Gotham Knights will be released on October 21 for the PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
