Moon Knight will be the MCU’s first show and movie to premiere in 2022. Disney’s initial trailer for the upcoming MCU show starring Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke comes just days after the House of Mouse promised its arrival. Fans watching the NFL Super Wild Card matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Ram on Monday night were in for quite the treat. The first Moon Knight trailer provided a more extensive look at the fractured mind of Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector. After the relatively rounded Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, Moon Knight looks to deal with the supernatural. The trailer does a great job of setting up Spector’s conflicts with himself and how he eventually accepts what’s happening to him. Unfortunately, the Moon Knight trailer still refuses to give audiences a better glimpse at Isaac’s Moon Knight attire. In the comic books, Spector is a former marine and mercenary who gains supernatural powers after becoming a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. When he transforms, Spector goes by the name of Moon Knight. However, unlike your typical costume-wearing superpowered being, Spector also suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder. This explains why, at some parts of the trailer, Spector goes by other names like Steven, among others. 2021 pales in comparison to what Marvel Studios has planned for MCU shows on Disney+ this year. Moon Knight is just the start of the handful of MCU shows that’s coming to the budding streaming platform. In addition to Moon Knight, fans can also look forward to at least She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, as well as Secret Invasion and season 2 of What If…? Here’s to hoping that Moon Knight can spark Marvel Studios’ momentum in 2022 as WandaVision did once it premieres on March 30. In other MCU news, Spider-Man: No Way Home’s run at the top of the box office has officially come to an end. After several weeks of topping charts and making a total of $1.6 billion, No Way Home ceded the top spot to Scream. We also found out that the production of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has resumed now that Letitia Wright has made her return.
