Boba Fett details plans for criminal empire in new clip
The brief clip from The Book of Boba Fett sees the titular bounty hunter and his trusted buddy, Fennec Shand, walking through Tattoine. Boba Fett then talks about how he wants to do things differently from Jabba the Hutt. He says that he intends “to rule with respect,” which will probably be easier said than done. Of course, when you’ve got a reputation like Boba Fett, it’s probably easier to manage a criminal empire. If you’re new to Star Wars, Boba Fett is an infamous figure in Star Wars lore. He is a genetic clone of Jango Fett, who donated the DNA used to create the Republic’s clone army. After Jango died in Clone Wars, Boba inherited his mantle and Mandalorian armor, which started his path to become arguably the most cold-hearted bounty hunter in Star Wars. Older fans might remember Boba Fett dying after the events of the original trilogy’s Return of the Jedi. However, in an earlier trailer, it is implied that he’d survived with the help of the natives of Tattooine, although we’ll probably know more about how exactly this happened once the show airs. Speaking of Tattooine, Boba will now try and take over the underground syndicate that Jabba the Hutt left behind following his death. It appears that The Book of Boba Fett will focus on Boba and Fennec’s attempt to lead the criminal empire. Coincidentally, the actor behind Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clone will reprise his role as the bounty hunter after also playing him as Boba Fett. This is a cheeky casting as Boba would technically look exactly like Jango since he is a genetic clone. In addition to Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec, The Book of Boba Fett will also introduce new characters, including Jennifer Beals, who will take on the role of a Twi’lek character. In other Star Wars news, fans found out at The Game Awards 2021 that Quantic Dream, the studio behind Detroit: Become Human, is working on a Star Wars game.
