With only six weeks separating players from the chance of the lifetime to get themselves chased around by werewolves and gargantuan vampire ladies alike, Capcom has released the Resident Evil Village PC requirements over on Steam. What Are The Resident Evil Village PC Requirements?
After an earlier press release in Japanese revealed the Resident Evil Village PC requirements, Capcom decided to confirm everything on Steam. As one might expect, Resident Evil Village will require heavier specs than Resident Evil 7. According to the listed minimum requirements, you’ll need at least an Intel Core i5-7500 or an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4GB) or an AMD Radeon RX 560 (4GB). On the other hand, for the recommended requirements, a recently built mid-end gaming PC is what’s recommended. To be specific, the processor needs to be at least an Intel Core i7-8700 or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 paired with either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or an AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card as well as 16GB of RAM. In both instances, Capcom recommends using a 64-bit variant of Windows 10 with DirectX 12. With that said, if your PC isn’t up to snuff, don’t worry. Similar to Resident Evil 7, many players were able to get away with slightly lesser specs. In fact, it might be possible to run the game on a $500 gaming PC considering that it’s also designed to work on older consoles as well.
Resident Evil RE: Verse Open Beta Confirmed for April
In addition to the PC requirements of Resident Evil Village, Capcom also confirmed an open beta period for Resident Evil RE: Verse in April for both consoles and PC. Anyone interested in taking part can click here. You will need to have a Capcom ID. The open beta will start on April 7 and will last until April 10 with pre-loading available as early as April 5. For those that don’t know, Resident Evil RE: Verse is a multiplayer shooter. It comes free for everyone who purchases a copy of Resident Evil Village. It’ll see players engage in a six-way deathmatch-style where they can mutate into all sorts of monstrosities that have appeared in the Resident Evil franchise since. If you happen to have been a part of the closed beta period, you won’t need to download anything else anymore. Resident Evil RE: Verse is expected to launch alongside Resident Evil Village on May 7 on all major platforms.
What’s Next for the Resident Evil Franchise?
2021 is a big year for the Resident Evil franchise. In addition to Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil RE: Verse, a cinematic reboot with Johannes Roberts at the helm is expected to release in September 2021. There are also reportedly two series’ based on the Resident Evil franchise expected to premiere on Netflix soon. One of them is an animated web series titled “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” that will star franchise staples, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, in an all-new story and is expected to air in 2021. Meanwhile, the other is a Resident Evil TV series with an original storyline that currently has no expected release date as of yet.
