At least, until now. Jutsu Games decided to humor this thought by releasing “Ruster”, which is an open-world, top-down action game where you can get to play as a “medieval thug” that the developers themselves described as Grand Theft Horse. Yes. You read that right. You won’t be stealing cars in this game. You’ll be stealing horses (and probably a bunch of other stuff). Are you interested? Is There a Ruster Trailer Available?
The trailer gives you a good glimpse of what kind of shenanigans you should expect to be able to pull off once you’re deeply immersed into the game’s “historically inaccurate medieval setting”. But, more than just a game that’s not afraid to not take itself seriously, Rustler does have quite a bit of depth in terms of gameplay. In addition to being a thug, there are also quests for you to complete, which can include hunting witches and more, and there’s a bit of jousting too if you like that.
What Kind of a Game Is Rustler?
If you’ve had a chance to play Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars and other older Grand Theft Auto games, before they shifted to a 3D third-person perspective, you’ll feel right at home in Rustler. The top-down perspective is perfect for showing off the remarkably detailed medieval open world that you can explore and wreak havoc in if you want. The game apparently lets you alternate between being a good guy and helping the good folks of the town out and sowing seeds of chaos. If you do like to play like the former, you’d be surprised at the amount of content that the game has if you take it seriously and tend the townspeople, as well as your farm. Even if you’re just here for the laughs, the game has the same twisted sense of humor that the series that inspired it has. From filling walls up with graffiti to horses wearing a medieval equivalent of a police siren, you’d think that this was really a legitimate Grand Theft Auto title from Rockstar Games themselves.
When Is The Rustler Release Date?
Unfortunately, the developers did not give a release date when they showed off Rustler via their latest trailer. Instead, they opted to write the words “when the time comes,” which doesn’t really help any bit. If it’s any consolation though, the game is already available as an Early Access title on Steam. However, if you don’t have success with Steam via a computer, you might have to wait a while for it to be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
