Returnal was one of the PlayStation exclusives leaked by Nvidia GeForce Now last year. Since then, a Steam listing of the game has popped up multiple times in recent months and footage of the PC port even appeared at GDC. So, the PC port was always a matter of when and not if. But, most probably didn’t expect Housemarque’s latest title to be a part of The Game Awards. Returnal’s PC port was one of the first games revealed at the shortened event and it came with a trailer that said that it’s “coming soon” to the PC. PlayStation bosses mentioned, back in May, that Sony is expecting to release half of its annual exclusives on PC and mobile platforms by 2025. After starting with Horizon Zero Dawn two years ago, we’re inclined to agree. Most likely, Returnal’s PC release will be after The Last of Us Part 1 becomes available to download on Steam and the Epic Games Store after coming out on the PlayStation 5 earlier this year. Returnal was nominated for multiple awards at last year’s The Game Awards where it ultimately won “Best Action Game”. Sony later acquired Housemarque following the game’s release and added it to its growing family of studios under the PlayStation Studios umbrella.
