According to a recent survey conducted by digital distribution platform GOG, it seems like the French video game publisher is adopting a new strategy for their subscription-based video game service, Ubisoft+. In the survey, users are asked about the gaming subscription services and plans they have signed up for, and among the choices are Nintendo Switch Online, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation+, and Ubisoft+. However, in place of Ubisoft+, three tiers have been listed, namely: Ubisoft Plus Gold, Ubisoft Plus Ultimate, and Ubisoft Plus Deluxe. What’s surprising is that Ubisoft currently offers only one standard tier that goes for $14.99 a month, and the other tiers listed on the survey don’t exist.

If we’re to believe that the options on the survey were not listed in error, then it means that Ubisoft is planning on partitioning the current standard plan into three tiers. Although no price is listed on the three tiers, gaming fans will be curious to know the cost of each tier. The current cost of the standard Ubisoft+ plan is considered pricey for most gamers who have subscriptions to other services. Although Ubisoft+ is available on PlayStation consoles as part of the revamped PlayStation Plus subscription service, with Ubisoft+ Classics on the Extra and Premium tiers, adding an existing service to their new tiers and lowering their prices would entice many gamers to subscribe. In any case, Ubisoft has not officially announced any plans to add new tiers, and until such a time comes, the tiers listed on the GOG survey can only be treated as speculation. Speaking of Ubisoft, gaming fans can look forward to the upcoming Star Wars game that was teased by the gaming studio’s creative director, Julian Gerighty, at the beginning of the year. Ubisoft has yet to release a trailer for the unnamed open-world game, but new reports suggest that the game will be monetized.
