Case in point, Norman Reedus. Last year, The Walking Dead actor revealed that the sequel to Death Stranding was already under negotiation. Nearly a year later, Reedus let more Death Stranding 2 information slip. This time, the info is much juicier.
— Nibel (@Nibellion) May 20, 2022 In a recent interview with Leo Edit, Reedus was asked about his work on the latest project by Hideo Kojima. When asked more about Death Stranding, Reedus simply answered, “We just started the second one.” Since neither Kojima Productions nor Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that Death Stranding 2 is in development, we’re betting Reedus just broke his NDA. Of course, Reedus will undoubtedly get away scot-free. After all, he is the star of the first Death Stranding game and will presumably reprise his role as Sam Porter Bridges for the sequel. Now that the cat is out of the bag, Kojima might have no choice but to confirm that Death Stranding 2 is coming. The good news is that June is a jam-packed month full of events and reveals. Most likely, we will hear more about the upcoming sequel by then. In particular, Kojima might pop by at the Summer Games Fest Live showcase just like last year when he revealed Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. For what it’s worth, Kojima did tease a “radical project” for this year. Most likely, Kojima was not talking about a follow-up to 2019’s Death Stranding, but who knows? With a much bigger budget to throw at multiple video games following the success of the studio’s first outing, Kojima Productions can afford to work on more than one title. Not to mention, there are talks that Sony will acquire Kojima Productions, which would give the studio much deeper pockets. Of course, Kojima has since denied that such a purchase is happening, the best thing that we can do right now is to wait for an actual confirmation.
