With less than a year to go before the film premieres in theaters on June 10, 2022, Universal Pictures is starting to reveal more about the movie, starting with this brand new photo of a different and deadlier raptor.

What can fans expect from Jurassic World: Dominion?

The Jurassic Park/World franchise has always had a fascination with raptors. The sequels only helped reinforce this, with Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady developing a close bond with captive-bred raptors. However, in the latest photo for Dominion, Grady finds himself being chased around by what looks like a bigger raptor. Empire debuted the latest Jurassic World: Dominion image, which showcases the Atrociraptor as it chases down Grady through a stairwell while on his motorcycle. Jurassic World: Dominion will pick up four years following the events of Fallen Kingdom. The ending of the last Jurassic World film saw Maisie release all the hidden genetically engineered dinosaurs into the world. This now forces humans and dinosaurs to try and find a way to live together, which probably won’t be easy. In addition to the returning cast members already mentioned, Dominion will bring back Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, and BD Wong. However, Dominion isn’t just a reunion of classic and modern Jurassic Park and World characters. It’s also going to bring in a series of newcomers such as Campbell Scott, Mamoudo Athie, Dichen Lachman, Scott Haza, and DeWanda Wise. The filming of Dominion took nearly a year to complete because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thankfully, the studio has since finished the hard part. Now, Universal is preparing for the film to drop next year. Aside from the photo seen above, Universal also revealed a trailer for Dominion a few months back, which takes audiences on a trip back in time. Having said that, it’ll be interesting to see where Dominion will take the franchise next and if it will set up yet another trilogy. In the meantime, fans can keep themselves busy with Jurassic World Evolution 2, which was released last November. There are also rumors that the studio behind Alien: Isolation is working on a survival horror game based on Jurassic World.
