Red Notice proved to everyone just how much money Netflix is willing to throw for a single movie. Don’t Look Up will help reinforce that. In addition to DiCaprio and Lawrence, Don’t Look Up will also include other heavy-hitters like Rob Morgan, Meryl Streep, Mark Rylance, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, Cate Blanchett, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, as well as Scott Mescudi, and even Ariana Grande. With this kind of ensemble cast, viewers are sure to watch Don’t Look Up, regardless of its plot. But, from what we can tell, the story is no slouch either. According to available information, Don’t Look Up will star DiCaprio and Lawrence as low-level astronomers who have to travel around the United States to warn the entire country that a giant meteor is set to flatten the entire earth. Several trailers feature the astronomers trying desperately to convince everyone from ordinary citizens to powerful authority figures that the threat is very real, including a Meryl Streep, who appears to be a female version of the former President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. If you’re feeling excited about Don’t Look Up, you’re not alone. More than 2 million people have viewed the trailer for Don’t Look Up within its first 24 hours. We can only expect this to continue to grow as word spreads about this blockbuster film. Having said that, audiences don’t have to wait too long to find out more about Don’t Look Up. The star-studded film is set to premiere in theaters exclusively on December 10 before hitting Netflix on December 24. If things work out, Don’t Look Up has the potential to top Red Notice’s 148 million hours viewed over the weekend for Netflix’s biggest opening weekend ever for a movie.
