The streaming platform announced Cobra Kai Season 4’s premiere date at its first-ever TUDUM showcase while also dropping a hype-inducing teaser for the upcoming season that centers around Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence teaming up for the All-Valley karate tournament.
Netflix is committed to more Cobra Kai in the future
When YouTube announced that it was working on a Karate Kid spin-off a few years ago, nobody knew what to make of it. The 2010 reboot starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan was a commercial success, but it didn’t garner enough interest to spawn a sequel. However, when the first two seasons of Cobra Kai arrived in 2018 and 2019, it quickly proved itself to be a sought-after show. According to estimates, the Season 1 premiere of Cobra Kai pulled in more than 90 million views while the Season 2 premiere enjoyed the same viewership numbers. However, it wasn’t until Netflix picked up the series that things started to really take off. Since then, Cobra Kai has become a global phenomenon. It is one of the most-watched TV series on the platform. To prove Netflix’s commitment to Cobra Kai, the streaming giant renewed the show for a fifth season with the series creator talking about the possibility of spin-offs in the future. With that said, fans have been looking forward to watching Season 4 of Cobra Kai. Now, audiences have a date to circle on their calendars. From the latest trailer, we can assume that Season 4 will pick up exactly where Season 3 left off. The former rivals have finally teamed up to fight against a familiar foe. However, the trailer also doesn’t give us a lot to work with. All we know is that the stakes are higher this time around. Hopefully, Netflix releases a new trailer ahead of Season 4’s premiere on December 31. Speaking of the TUDUM showcase, Netflix also dropped new trailers and info about The Witcher and Tiger King 2.
