MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, partnered with Epic for “MrBeast’s Extreme Survival Challenge”, which is a virtual gauntlet of several challenges with the million-dollar prize pot waiting for the winner. The goal is to rack up the highest score when playing the MrBeast challenge mode when it launches on December 17. You’ll find the game mode in the “Fortnite competitive” section of the popular battle royale.
For the more competitive players out there, Epic has already rolled out the challenge island, so you’ll have several days of practice before the contest begins. Just don’t forget to enable the two-factor authentication feature on your account and reach level 15 to qualify. Don’t worry, Epic and MrBeast are giving away other stuff to a handful of lucky players too. If you’re not good enough to win a million bucks, you can win a MrBeast-themed umbrella, a skin, an emote, and several other custom in-game items. The upcoming gimmick is just the latest in Epic’s brazen experimentation with Fortnite. The massive video game developer and publisher has brought in everything from superheroes to villains, pop culture icons, superstar athletes, musicians, and more. But, this is Epic’s first big cash giveaway in Fortnite. This shows the kinds of lengths that Epic is willing to go to for Fortnite. It wouldn’t surprise us if the next collaboration with content creators involves a form of a giveaway as well. Ultimately, Fortnite has become like its original battle royale self and is now more of a video game platform. Fortnite now plays host to a bottomless pit of user-generated content. Only time will tell if this is MrBeast’s first and last time in Fortnite or if he’ll return for more giveaways. Speaking of MrBeast, the popular YouTuber is reportedly seeking a billion-dollar valuation for his growing business empire.
