Apparently, this was all sadly due to a bug.
Here’s what a Microsoft spokesperson had to say about the issue in a statement: You can go ahead and check the Xbox store yourself right now. You’ll find that GTA 5 as well as Elden Ring and the other games involved no longer list support for cloud streaming. Xbox Cloud Gaming, as well as cloud-based gaming in general, is an excellent alternative to traditional gaming. In theory, the service lets you jump into particular games without having to dedicate a huge amount of storage space. It’s not necessarily perfect and it’s not without its quirks. For example, you might no longer need to splurge on a powerful PC to enjoy the best games. However, you’ll still need two things: a fast internet connection and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Both of these do not come cheap. In addition, most people who have both already have a specced-up PC. Finally, Xbox Cloud Gaming currently doesn’t support a mouse and keyboard. All of this will change in the future. For now, the verdict’s still out if Xbox Cloud Gaming can live up to its potential. Speaking of Microsoft, the tech giant will be at Gamescom 2022. Other companies that will be in Cologne, Germany, next week, are Unknown Worlds Entertainment and Ubisoft.
