In a Sacred Symbols podcast, Colin Moriarty revealed that a Dead Island 2 re-reveal could happen soon before a September or October release. Earlier this year, Tom Henderson claimed that Dambuster Studios is actively working on Dead Island 2 ahead of a potential Q4 2022 launch.

With two trusted industry insiders corroborating similar information, it’s hard to believe that nothing is going on with Dead Island 2. The good news is that THQ Nordic plans to hold a digital showcase in August where they will highlight “several, brand new games, expanding the company’s portfolio into new genres with both licensed and original gaming experiences.” Unfortunately, the THQ Nordic showcase isn’t happening for a few months, so fans will have to wait for potential Dead Island 2 news. In the meantime, those looking for an open-world zombie game don’t need to search for long. Techland, the developers of the original Dead Island game, recently released Dying Light 2: Stay Alive. Dead Island fans consider the parkour-based undead-centric title as a spiritual successor, with Techland supporting the 2015 title for years. In an earlier statement, Techland promised at least five years of support for Dying Light 2.
