Paul continues to prove doubters wrong after entering the WWE following his boxing stint last year. The elder Paul drew in a massive crowd at this year’s SummerSlam against The Miz before proving his earlier success wasn’t a fluke at Crown Jewel against Roman Reigns. The controversial internet personality is on the mend due to injuries suffered in his latest title match but he’s also busy setting up what could be an even bigger spectacle. As Wrestle Ops tweeted that John Cena is expected to return to the WWE at WrestleMania 39 in April, Paul retweeted the report and added a side-eye emoji.
— Logan Paul (@LoganPaul) November 9, 2022 If you’re not up to date with internet lingo, it’s a versatile emoji that can be used to draw a person’s attention towards something. In this particular case, Paul is definitely hyping up a potential bout against one of the all-time WWE greats. To no one’s surprise, fans are responding enthusiastically to Paul’s tease and Triple H will be foolish not to take notes. Of course, this is all assuming that Paul’s body is ready to go. At 27, Paul’s body is relatively peak condition and he should recover quite well. But, you can never be too sure given that he suffered from a laundry list of maladies against Reigns, including a torn meniscus and Medial Collateral Ligament as well as a potential anterior cruciate ligament tear. It doesn’t take a medical expert to tell that Paul isn’t in his best condition right now. It’ll take a while for Paul to come back in proper shape to perform and he might not make it in time for WrestleMania 39. It’s worth noting that there are only five months left before the start of WrestleMania 39. If you add his recovery time to training and practice, it’s a tight if very risky squeeze. This could put any chances of Paul wrestling at WrestleMania on hold, regardless of his opponent. A match-up between Cena and Paul will be a dream come true for several fans. Paul proved in Riyadh that there’s nothing gimmicky about his performance; he’s the real deal. Only time will tell if Paul will stay in the WWE for the long haul. He’s the sort of guy to have his hands in a lot of things all at the same time. But, if Triple H can sign him long-term, even if it means only sporadic appearances, the WWE fans benefit the most. It wouldn’t be over-selling Paul’s talents to claim that he could be the next Cena or Rock. Now, wouldn’t it make for quite the passing-of-the-torch-type of moment if Paul could get a chance to square up against one or the other if not both in a future WrestleMania? Speaking of Cena, the former (and probably still) face of the WWE is busy working with the restructured Warner Bros. Discovery on the DC Universe. It’s confirmed he’s returning for one more DCU film outside of Season 2 of Peacemaker. Now that James Gunn is one of the people in charge of the cinematic universe, we’re pretty sure Cena will be busier than ever going forward.
