A huge part of what made Modern Warfare 2 so memorable is its campaign. The sequel didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, but it was an excellent follow-up that had yet to eschew the restraint and intimacy of the first game. True to this, when people talk about unforgettable Call of Duty moments, they often bring up a lot of moments from Modern Warfare 2. The Chief among them is the mission, No Russian, which was arguably the first in the series’ long line of controversies. Alas, who could forget that action-packed snowmobile section? How about the firefights as well as sieges at Burger Town and Makarakov? Finally, there’s that gut-wrenching end-game sequence that’s being teased to return in the next Call of Duty game. Having said that, the return of Modern Warfare 2 later this month teases another potentially standard-setting installment that is expected to propel Call of Duty back to the top. It’s believed that Modern Warfare 2 will enjoy two years of post-launch support. According to the earlier leaks, this will include remastered classic Call of Duty maps. Now, the premium DLC will reportedly include more than multiplayer content. TheGhostofHope claims that the second-year plans for Modern Warfare 2 include a campaign DLC as well. Specifically, the same leaker points out that the campaign DLC will contain the map pack of fan-favorite Call of Duty maps. Unfortunately, details about the future DLC for Modern Warfare 2 are far from clear. Until it becomes official, the only sure thing is that Activision Blizzard will release Modern Warfare 2 on the 28th, and those who pre-ordered the game can access it a week earlier.
