Mbappe, who is just 23 years old, is widely considered one of the best and brightest young stars in soccer. Mbappe started 34 times in 35 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last year where he tallied 28 goals and 17 assists, helping lead the Parisiens to its eighth league title in 10 tries. Meanwhile, Kerr makes an even more historic debut for FIFA 23. The footballer is the first female to appear on a global cover of FIFA. USMNT’s Alex Morgan appeared previously in 2016 but it was exclusive to the United States. In the same year, Christine Sinclair and Stephanie Catley were featured in Canada and Australia, respectively.

The former helped lead France to its second World Cup title in 2018 when he was just barely out of his teens. As for Kerr, the 28-year-old won the Golden Boot for the second straight time last year and helped Chelsia win a WSL title for the third consecutive time as well as a FA Cup-WSL double for the second straight year. Kerr is also the all-time leading scorer for Australia with 59 goals. It’s safe to say that FIFA fans have a reason to get excited for the next few weeks. Now that EA has revealed the cover stars for FIFA 23, the trailer is coming next on July 20. This should answer many fans’ most pressing questions about the next FIFA game. Speaking of EA and FIFA, the publisher officially cut ties with football’s foremost governing body earlier this year. After FIFA 23, EA will release subsequent installments in their storied soccer franchise under a different name, “EA Sports FC Club.” As for FIFA, it’s reportedly looking for a new partner for a new FIFA-branded soccer sim by 2024. In a way, FIFA 23 will mark the end of an era and we’re hoping that EA pulls out all the stops for this one.
