What other Rockstar games are coming to the Switch?
The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017 as a portable alternative to the PS4 and Xbox One. The hybrid console doesn’t have anywhere near the hardware power of its contemporaries, but it hasn’t stopped developers from porting games over to the Switch. We’ve seen demanding titles like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and even Apex Legends both make their way to the Switch. However, while the best Nintendo Switch games are enough to make other platform owners jealous, the console could always stand to use more games. Enter - Rockstar Games. According to SamusHunter2 on Twitter, Nintendo is currently working with Rockstar so that the studio can port its RAGE game engine to the Switch. If this is true, it suggests that Rockstar has plans to bring more than just the remastered GTA trilogy of games to Nintendo’s portable console. Of course, this piece of intel isn’t confirmed. SamusHunter2 could be wrong, although they have a track record for leaking the right things.
— Samus Hunter | Nintendo Leak and News Inside (@SamusHunter2) November 5, 2021 With that said, if Rockstar is going to release more GTA games to the Switch, we could see games like GTA 4 and GTA 5, as well as the Red Dead Redemption series, all become available to play on the Switch. Hopefully, this is indeed the case. Rockstar’s titles are proven to be console sellers and the Switch is close to the 9-digit mark in lifetime sales. If Rockstar and Nintendo can work something out, then Nintendo could be looking at another console that sells well over 100 million units. But, as we’ve already mentioned, this isn’t confirmed yet, so take it with a grain of salt. Until Nintendo and Rockstar announce their partnerships, it’s best to just wait and see. Until then, Switch owners can keep themselves busy with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on November 11.
