Warzone 2 will feature the same engine as Modern Warfare 2, which means the gameplay mechanics will also be the same. New mechanics include a lot of new features such as improved swimming, new and improved Gunsmith, and better vehicle gameplay. To date, numerous rumors and assumptions have surfaced regarding the release date of Warzone 2, with some even confirming the release to be somewhere in early 2023. Thankfully, Infinity Ward has confirmed that the sequel to the Battle Royale will be coming out later this year. So the rumors about a release in 2023 can be put to rest, officially. Unfortunately, in a creator session, Infinity Ward that Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 wouldn’t be released together. Players will have to wait just a bit more to experience the brand-new Battle Royale.
While it is still unknown when Warzone 2 will drop, we can make a rough guess based on Warzone Pacific’s release date. Warzone Pacific was released a month after the release of Call of Duty: Vanguard. The timeframe for the arrival of Warzone 2 could more or less be the same. Players will have a chance to level up their weapon arsenal during pre-season as they prepare for Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Modern Warfare 2 is set to release on October 28, 2022, and players can expect Warzone 2 to arrive a month or two after it.
