To help solve this very “first world problem”, Snap and Warner Media have teamed up to add a new feature to the Snapchat mobile app. HBO Max Minis, as they are called, will allow users to stream a few episodes from some of the most popular series on HBO Max with up to 63 other users on Snapchat. What are HBO Max Minis?
HBO Max Minis are a part of Snap’s third-party app feature for Snapchat, Snapchat Minis. Snap refers to the Minis as smaller utilities that allow users to do everything from vote registrations (at least in the United States) to purchasing tickets via Atom. The addition of HBO Max Minis now lets users stream entire episodes from a dozen or so HBO Max series.
Are HBO Max Minis free to use?
According to Warner Media, HBO Max Minis are free to use. However, because the feature is designed to get viewers to subscribe to HBO Max, users will see the option to get an HBO Max subscription after every episode. In addition to this, HBO Max Minis will offer synchronized playback for up to 64 other users. All users need to do is to send a link to join the Snap Mini using an in-chat message or by sending a clickable sticker link. Once users have joined and the show has started streaming, anyone who has access to the link can co-watch, chat, and even send reactions as if everyone was watching just beside one another.
How do you use HBO Max Minis in Snapchat?
The HBO Max Minis experience is available through the rocket icon that you can see when inside Snapchat. You can also manually search for it within the app if you want. Once launched, all you need to do is to verify your birthday and age.
