Are you ready to see Beavis and Butt-Head again?
Most younger audiences probably won’t know who Beavis and Butt-Head are or what the titular series is all about. The edgy and social satire show first aired on MTV back in 1993 after a successful debut in Judge’s 1992 short film, Frog Baseball. From there, Beavis and Butt-Head would air on MTV for a half-decade before being revived for an eighth season in 2011. Now, the so-called voice of Generation X and the older Millenials are back. The show’s creator, Mike Judge, went on Twitter to reveal what Beavis and Butt-Head would look like now that they’re older.

Beavis, for one, appears to be your stereotypical jorts-wearing bum who spends all day lying on the couch and smoking a pack or two a day while watching his favorite shows on Netflix. Meanwhile, Butt-Head hasn’t grown too fat, but it’s clear that old age has gotten to him. It’s not clear if this middle-aged look is how both will appear in the upcoming revival movie or TV show. But, if it is, we’re not exactly complaining. If anything, the look could make the duo look more relatable and could pave the way for several creative directions that the series could take. Hopefully, the new look is a sign that Beavis and Butt-Head’s revival on Paramount+ is gaining traction. As Judge reveals, there’s no word yet when the revival movie or show will premiere. However, according to the original announcement, the new series will see the duo enter a “whole new Gen Z world” that will help it cater to older fans as well as younger audiences who weren’t even alive when the original series aired on MTV.
