Months after Rockstar Games finally acknowledged that GTA 6 is in development, Take-Two Interactive just gave GTA fans the worst possible piece of news. In a recent earnings call, Rockstar’s parent company just revealed several projects that its subsidiaries and partner studios are all working on and that might come out by FY2025, at the latest. Unfortunately, the sixth mainline GTA installment is nowhere in sight. Naturally, some worry that this means that Rockstar won’t release GTA VI in the next two years. Although, judging by the recent rumors about how massive GTA 6 could be, it might be in the game’s best interest to stay in development for a long time. In addition to giving Rockstar more opportunities to tweak and refine GTA 6, a 2026 launch would minimize any potentially controversial issues like workplace crunch that could otherwise sully the release of the highly anticipated hexaquel. If it’s any consolation, Take-Two did note that the list isn’t final. True enough, the massive video game holdings company only named less than a dozen of the 69 games it plans to release over the next three years. In addition to GTA 6, Take-Two Interactive also didn’t include the next BioShock game, Ken Levine’s new project, as well as the Max Payne remakes. Hopefully, Take-Two’s next presentation reveals more about the company’s plans and it’s one that sheds more light on when exactly GTA 6 will come out.
