If it’s any consolation, Sony did give God of War fans something to chew on for a while. After giving the sequel a name and a trailer at last year’s State of Play event, Sony released God of War to the PC, much to the delight of fans. Still, gamers can’t help but wonder if God of War: Ragnarok will be delayed for the second year in a row. But, if the recent reports are to go by, Kratos’ eventual showdown with Thor and team-up with Tyr won’t be delayed at all - it will be here within the next four months. According to a small-time regional retailer in Chile, God of War: Ragnarok will be out in June albeit with no specific date outside of the release month. However, a June release date for God of War: Ragnarok does somewhat line up with the recent rumors. Following the GT7-centered State of Play event earlier this month, we’ve seen several trusted insiders claim that Sony is gearing up for a bigger showcase in March. Although the upcoming Harry Potter open-world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, has been thrown around as one of the biggest draws of the unannounced State of Play, some are also saying that Sony will reveal God of War: Ragnarok’s release date by then. But, there’s also the “more trustworthy” intel claiming that the Kratos’ next outing isn’t until September. The silver lining here is that different industry insiders are all saying that God of War: Ragnarok will be released this year.
