Who is Snake Eyes?
One of the original 13 ‘G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero’ characters from the 1982 toyline and Marvel Comic series, Snake Eyes is the most popular of the franchise and easily one of the most identifiable pop culture icons. Starting off as a commando, Snake Eyes would later evolve and add ninja to his file card. His origins in the comics written by Larry Hama would connect him with the Arashikage clan and being a blood brother to another fan favorite ninja, Storm Shadow. Clad in all black, Snake Eyes’s most famous feature is his visor, which is like a cross between a knight’s helmet and a hi-tech HUD.
Snake Eyes on Fortnite
In collaboration with Hasbro, owners of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero IP, Fortnite is introducing Snake Eyes to a new generation. The ninja comes to the game as a skin, with complete representations for the Pickaxe and Back Bling. Referred to as the Arashikage Clan set, you can add Snake Eyes today as your Hunter today! As part of Fortnite’s Chapter 2, Season 5, the Arashikage set comes with Snake Eyes’s signature pseudo-military ninja outfit. Furthermore, his signature Arashikage katana is represented as both the Pickaxe tool and as the Back Bling. The Arashikage clan symbol is prominently featured on his suit as well as the katanas. Interestingly, this is the first Snake Eyes to ever sport the G.I. Joe logo on his costume (specifically his pauldron). The Arashikage set is available for 1,800 V-Bucks and can be purchased for yourself or as a gift.
Fortnite Snake Eyes Action Figure?
A unique surprise is that Hasbro is also releasing the Fortnite version of Snake Eyes as an action figure! Hasbro’s Fortnite G.I. Joe Collab Snake Eyes Zero Point figure is currently available as a pre-order for $39.99. This special edition figure mirrors the imagery of the in-game Fortnite version. The 6-inch figure has 20 points of articulation and adds Fortnite signature gear. These include a harpoon launcher, the Boogie Bomb for his hand (and a bandolier belt with Boogie Bombs), Chiller Grenade, and the Mythic Shockwave Launcher. Fortnite Snake Eyes also comes with a swappable hand with a throwing ninja shuriken.
More Joe?
Sadly, Snake Eyes’s loyal wolf Timber is not available in-game or with the action figure. Fans interested in the getting the action figure can order from Hasbro’s home site, HasbroPulse.com. However, they may have to wait a bit. The Fortnite Snake Eyes Zero Point action figure does not ship until January 15, 2022. Will there be more G.I. Joe Fortnite skins in the future? We would certainly love to have Snake Eyes’s rival, Storm Shadow, main squeeze Scarlett, or the big bad Cobra Commander himself in the game!
