As Assassin’s Creed turns 15 this year, Ubisoft marked the occasion with more content. For starters, Ubisoft has revealed that it’s still not done adding more content to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The game, which first came out in 2020, is getting another batch of post-launch updates after the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC from earlier this year. The first one is The Forgotten Saga, which is a rogue-lite mode that’s coming to Valhalla this summer. Finally, before the year ends, Ubisoft promises more story content that will continue Eivor’s adventures in Valhalla. Both are going to be available for free, so the least you can do is to try them out to see what Ubisoft is adding to the latest mainline installment of Assassin’s Creed. In addition to seeing more of Eivor, Ubisoft is making the Valhalla Discovery Tour available as a standalone experience and opened its curriculum guide so classrooms can use it for educational purposes. Also, you might have heard that Assassin’s Creed Origins got a next-gen update for the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. The 2017 title is widely credited for helping reinvigorate the stagnating franchise and it’s nice to see that Ubisoft still wants gamers to go back and experience it. If you haven’t played Origins yet, Ubisoft is making the game free to play for a weekend from June 16 to 20. The last, but certainly not the least, bit of news coming from the Assassin’s Creed 15th Anniversary Celebration is the launching of the dedicated anniversary site and the promise of more details coming in September. A few weeks ago, Ubisoft denied rumors that it was planning to hold an E3-style showcase this month. However, the French publisher didn’t exactly deny that it had an event planned this year. After seeing Ubisoft promise that it will reveal more of its plans in three months, we might see the long-rumored exhibition in September. Hopefully, we’ll hear more about Assassin’s Creed Infinity and the unannounced Basim-led sequel by then.
