Unfortunately, Disney nor Marvel Studios has announced any plans to bring back Olsen as Scarlet Witch yet in a feature film, outside of co-starring with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While disappointing, we can take solace that Olsen isn’t exactly opposed to the idea. In an interview with On Demand Entertainment, Olsen revealed that she’s willing to star in a Scarlet Witch movie after taking “some version of a break” as long as Marvel Studios has a “good story to tell.” It’s easy to understand why Olsen would like to take a breather from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even if her role as Scarlet Witch might have put her on the map, she’s appeared in quite a handful of MCU movies since. This has presumably forced her to say no to other filming commitments that she would otherwise have loved to explore had she had the time. Even if she isn’t keen on taking up other roles, Olsen has played prominent roles in at least five MCU movies since 2015. TLDR; the Scarlet Witch actress is very deserving of a break lest we risk her snapping and shaping reality to how she sees fit. Kidding aside, we’re curious to see how often Scarlet Witch will appear in the MCU going forward. WandaVision opened the door to the multiverse, but it was 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home that burst that opening wide open. The upcoming MCU film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is the MCU’s first deep dive into the concept of other universes. Based on earlier trailers, rumors, and even leaked footage, things are definitely well within Scarlet Witch’s territory, at least in the comic books. Who knows? A year or two after Doctor Strange 2, we might hear Kevin Feige announce a solo Scarlet Witch film that will explore her origins and perhaps introduce one of the most prominent X-Men members, Magneto, into the MCU. Speaking of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios just dropped its first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder. After going full multiversal in its past outings, the MCU is exploring the stars and beyond with the Chris Hemsworth-led film.
