Of course, when a feud between two highly bankable and likable figures happens, it often becomes the butt of jokes, for better or for worse, and it appears that Dwayne Johnson is a fan of it.
Johnson says that Vin Diesel jokes “never end”
The feud between Diesel and Johnson has gone on for more than half a decade now. It all started when Johnson called out Diesel in a since-deleted Instagram post that all reportedly culminated in a sit-down between the two actors in 2017. Things were quiet for a while until Diesel’s comments earlier this year re-ignited discussions, after Diesel claimed that he intentionally showed Johnson “tough love” for the sake of the film. In an interview with SiriusXM, Johnson revealed that he always gets joked about the feud between him and Diesel. He explains that he’s always open to hearing the jokes, and claims that the jokes that make it out to the public do not come from him.
What’s next for Johnson and Diesel?
Believe it or not, some people doubted the legitimacy of Johnson and Diesel’s feud. There were speculations that it was all fabricated for the sake of generating hype for 2017’s The Fate of the Furious. If true, then it worked. The film ended up grossing more than $1.2 billion at the global box office. But, then again, Johnson hasn’t appeared in the Fast Saga since. This would suggest that at least part of the feud was real and that the two did have disagreements while on the set of the popular high-octane action film franchise. Having said that, the feud hasn’t hurt each actor’s respective careers. Johnson, in particular, is set to star in the aforementioned Netflix film, Red Notice, alongside Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. Johnson is also scheduled to make his DCEU debut in 2022’s Black Adam. In addition to this, a sequel to Disney’s Jungle Cruise is already confirmed. On the other hand, Diesel just teased Riddick 4 in a recent Instagram post. Universal Pictures has also given the tenth Fast Saga film a proper premiere date.
