Accompanying the new poster for Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is a trailer showing the fun side of filming the movie, which is based on the best-selling tabletop role-playing game. The trailer is full of comedy and some impressive beasts found only in the fantasy world of Dungeons and Dragons. The behind-the-scenes trailer highlights the humorous tone of the movie with Chris Pine serving not only as the primary protagonist but also as the comic relief. “I think there’s a wicked sense of humor through this and that allows us to have as much fun with this as we can,” actor Regé Jean-Page remarks. The ragtag band of misfits includes Pine playing a Bard while Michelle Rodriguez is a Barbarian. Page takes on the role of a Paladin, Justice Smith is a Sorcerer, and Sophia Lillis plays a shape-shifting Druid. Hugh Grant plays the part of a Rouge in the movie and is expected to be one of the villains. The trailer also shows off some impressive creatures, including several types of dragons and an owlbear. The movie also has a mimic - a beast that takes on the shape of a treasure chest to ambush adventurers who are in search of valuable loot. We also get to see a displacer beast and a gelatinous cube in the trailer. The teaser also revealed that the movie employs animatronics for some of its magical beasts. Most modern-day fantasy films primarily use CGI, with actors being shot in front of a green screen, instead of using robots. Hopefully, the movie satisfies fans of the table-top RPG. We have had several films set in the Forgotten Realms and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves looks set to outdo them all. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is marching into theaters on March 31, 2022.
