If you don’t know who the Hypno-Hustler is, you’re not alone. He’s arguably as obscure as Krylar, the green-skinned scientist that Bill Murray is expected to play as in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Hypno-Hustler is a disco-era thief who can hypnotize others with his music. Although he’s not even remotely close to being one of Spider-Man’s most iconic foes, Glover’s interest in the role makes a lot of sense. Donald is an accomplished musician under the stage name, Childish Gambino. If it’s a musical project with Sony’s full backing and Glover’s talents fully unleashed, then we’re all for it. So far, details about the upcoming Sony’s Spider-Man Universe film are scant. The only info confirmed aside from Gambino’s involvement is that Eddie Murphy’s son, Myles Murphy, is writing the movie’s script. An unfortunate casualty from this announcement is Glover’s involvement in the MCU. It’s worth noting that Glover previously played Aaron Davis, Miles Morales’ uncle and the man behind the Spider-Man villain, Prowler, in Spider-Man: Homecoming. But, then again, who knows? The report doesn’t state that this means Glover will be exclusive to the spidey-less cinematic universe by Sony. However, a starring role in the SSU does imply minimal to zero involvement for Glover in the MCU in the future. Despite all the promising developments, Spider-Man’s presence in all of the upcoming SSU movies remains to be seen. Speaking of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, Spider-Man fans can look forward to watching the premiere of Kraven the Hunter on October 6. El Muerto and Madame Web are expected to follow suit on January 12 and February 16, respectively. The Venom threequel, Tom Hardy’s presumed final outing as the Marvel anti-hero, is still in the planning stages and is believed to involve a fight between Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.
