Co-starring alongside him as Wendy is Ever Anderson, who erupted onto the scene with her role in the 2021 movie Black Widow. The movie was first announced in 2016 when David Lowery agreed to direct a script he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks. The two were previously acquainted during Disney’s remake of Pete’s Dragon, on which they collaborated. The movie was originally slated to start shooting in April 2020, but production had to be pushed further back because of Covid. Things started picking up steam on March 16, 2021, when Disney announced that principal photography for Peter Pan & Wendy had started in Vancouver, Canada. By then the young main character actors had been confirmed with a star-studded cast. Jude Law from Fantastic Beasts 3 will be portraying the villainous character of Captain Hook. Alan Tudyk from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Molly Parker who starred in House of Cards will play the Darling parents. Joining them will be Jim Gaffigan, who will bring a humorous side to the pirate ship as Smee, and Yara Shahidi as the magical Tinkerbell.
— Disney+ (@DisneyPlus) December 19, 2022 Based on the little snippet we got from Disney, it appears that Peter Pan & Wendy will keep their iconic outfits from the animated movie. This includes Peter’s green ensemble and the symbolic Edwardian nightshirt. Outside of that, there’s not a lot of info about the film. But, according to Ever Anderson, this movie adaptation will do an excellent job of developing the character of Wendy, saying: Fingers crossed, Peter Pan & Wendy is deep into the post-production process right now and will be ready to stream early next year.
