Fans eager to purchase the game became confused about which version to purchase to get specific bonuses. There are four variants of Hogwarts Legacy that players can pre-order: Standard, Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition. Thankfully, Avalanche Software, makers of Hogwarts Legacy, clarified the pre-order bonuses this weekend in a series of tweets.
The team hears you and we’d like to provide some clarity on questions that have come up: — Hogwarts Legacy (@HogwartsLegacy) August 26, 2022 This should give fans some idea of which version to purchase.
Pre-order bonus
The Hogwarts Legacy developers clarified that the Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition of the game will get the Dark Arts Pack. The pack includes cosmetic items, an exclusive battle arena, and the Thestral mount. Pre-ordering the Deluxe, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition also includes 72-hour early access to the game. In addition to this, Avalanche Studios explained that players who pre-ordered the standard edition can purchase the Dark Arts Pack once the game comes out on February 10 and that this will be the only add-on available for purchase at launch. The Collector’s Edition will come with an ancient wand, magic book, and a steel game case alongside the Dark Arts Pack. The ancient wand floats when placed above the magic book.
Exclusive content
PlayStation owners will get exclusive Hogwarts Legacy content, specifically, the Felix Felicis Potion recipe as well as an exclusive quest. The Felix Felicis Potion, also known as Liquid Luck, makes a person extremely lucky. This is the same drink that Harry Potter drank in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Over the course of several hours, Harry got a handful of lucky breaks that altered the course of the entire story. The developers did not name the exclusive quest for PS4 and PS5 players, but it is confirmed that this will not be a pre-order bonus. Also, more PlayStation-exclusive content will be revealed as we inch closer to the game’s release.
