Marvel is slowly building out the cast for the upcoming series starring Charlie Coxx as Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil. Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk, otherwise referred to as Kingpin. It was announced a few days ago that Michael Gandolfini will be joining the cast. He is reportedly playing a key role in the series. Gandolfini played the role of Tony Soprano in the movie The Many Saints of Newark. Marvel has confirmed that two new cast members will be joining Daredevil: Born. Margarita Levieva and Sandrine Holt have been cast in the Marvel series. The two are reportedly the new love interests of Daredevil and Kingpin. Sandrine Holt recently appeared in the final season of Better Call Saul where she played the role of Cheryl Hamlin, the estranged wife of Howard Hamlin. Holt also had a recurring role in the first season of American Gigolo. Margarita Levieva was previously cast in the HBO series The Deuce. She appeared in all three seasons of the show that ended in 2019. She also appeared in the TV series Litvinenko and the Netflix show In From the Cold.
Will we be seeing Karen and Foggy again?
With the recent casting announcements, fans have wondered if both Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will be returning to the series. The two were mainstays of the Netflix show before it was canceled. Elden Henson was cast as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson and was Matt Murdock’s best friend and law partner in the Netflix series. Nelson serves as Daredevil’s sidekick as well as comic relief in the series. Woll played Karen Page in the original TV series, who was framed for murder after she had discovered corruption at her workplace. Murdock and Nelson helped her with her troubles and she later joined the duo in their quest for justice in Hell’s Kitchen. Charlie Cox was recently asked by Collider if the two actors are returning to the upcoming Marvel series. Cox did his best not to confirm nor deny that the actors are reprising their roles. “I don’t know what’s going to happen with the other characters in the new show, but I know for a fact that Elden and Deborah were the heartbeat(s) of what we did before, and the show is a success because of them,” Cox said. Daredevil: Born Again will be streaming on Disney+ in 2024.
