It turns out that was true. Half of the map is water-based, with swimming supposedly available. Tom Henderson, who is no stranger to the COD community by now, has previously leaked all the main POIs of the new Warzone 2 map. He has now sketched out a complete map layout with the locations of all the main POIs with grid references. As per the grid, it seems that the map is much bigger than both Verdansk and Caldera. The image below is hand-drawn by Tom Henderson.
According to Tom, the grey areas are densely built areas with buildings. The dark brown in the middle around the observatory indicates an elevated area. A lot of people didn’t like the fact we got an elevated area in the middle of the map, such as Peak in Caldera. It seems we have an elevated area right in the middle of the new map. Of course, it is subject to change, but we will see how it turns out once Warzone 2 is out. The thin black line going around the map is the train track, so the train system is returning. The rest of the brown area is just land. The bottom half of the map is filled with water. And apparently, you will be able to swim. This was also possible back in Blackout, but it is the first time a swimming mechanic is introduced inside Warzone. This same map will seemingly be used for both Warzone 2 and DMZ. With active playtesting and development of the game, we can expect more leaks in the future. It’ll be interesting to see how the devs will alter and what changes we will see in the final version of the map.
