A short teaser trailer has been revealed for Season 5, which includes a hint as to the time we can expect it to launch. It also contains a sneak peek at what content may be involved. The trailer was released in a rather unconventional way, but we suspect a proper upload will become available for viewing soon. During one of their streams, popular Call of Duty content creator Nickmercs held a short intermission where the teaser trailer, sent to them by Infinity Ward, debuted. We’re only talking a few seconds of footage, made to seem like it was recorded from the conductor’s cabin on a train, with the tracks stretching out in front. A helicopter makes a tight flyby, and the trailer ends. Laid over the footage is the date “5-AUG-2020”. This latter piece of info is the most concrete hint we got, and it is so overt that even calling it a hint feels a little odd. It’s practically an official confirmation of Season 5’s launch date, and it makes sense too considering the average lengths of seasons in Modern Warfare and Warzone. The juicy content, however, is the focus on trains. Some unconfirmed leaks have mentioned a “loot train” being added to Verdansk eventually, functioning similarly to the loot train feature seen in Apex Legends, another popular battle royale game. Whether the helicopter buzzing past has any significance is uncertain. The footage isn’t quite clear enough to determine whether we can expect a new aerial vehicle in Season 5, or if it’s just one of the currently available vehicles. Nonetheless, with the projected release date of August 5 closing in, expect to hear a lot more news and reveals about the upcoming content!
