As per previously leaked information, Vanguard will be revealed fully in-game in Warzone. The free-to-play battle royale mode accompanying both Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War will also continue to operate after the release of Vanguard, with the latter being integrated too. Warzone is expected to get a WWII map as well.
The teaser trailer appears to be heavily edited live action footage of locations intended to recreate various theatres from World War 2, with each shot ending on some part of the scenery roughly forming a face, likely of the main characters of Vanguard’s story. Warzone is going to set the stage for the game’s full, main reveal event on the 19th of August, and the teaser trailer has been tagged with #BattleofVerdansk. The trailer’s description also calls on viewers to ‘join the battle of Verdansk’ for the worldwide reveal of Vanguard. In celebration of the new game’s official announcement, there will be a highly limited one hour Double XP, Double Weapon XP, and Double Battle Pass XP event running from 9:30 AM to 10:29 AM PT as a warmup, since the actual live-event begins at 10:30 AM PT. If this is anything like the nuke event from earlier this year, things are going to get a major shakeup in Warzone. Based on the variety of locales depicted in the trailer, Call of Duty: Vanguard will be taking players to all theatres of World War 2 instead of just focusing on one or two. We see areas found in Germany, Russia and the Pacific appear during these sections. Call of Duty: Vanguard is expected to launch this November.
