Tez2, who is a known Rockstar insider, recently released a string of useful information about GTA VI. What makes what Tez2 said interesting is that it’s different from what other leaks have claimed. For example, last year, a handful of insiders claimed that GTA VI won’t be released until 2025. But, if you read through Tez2’s posts on the GTA forums, the insider claims that GTA 6 will be announced this year, ahead of its release in 2023. To be more specific, Tez2 states that “the new year is pretty much a given for the announcement of the next title.”
— GTA 6 NEWS & LEAKS (@NEWSLEAKSGTAS) January 22, 2022 Of course, there’s no telling just what exactly Tez2 is talking about. It might or might not be GTA VI. However, the leaker used oddly specific wording, talking about the “next title.” Tez2 didn’t mention that it’s a remaster or a remake, suggesting that he is indeed talking about GTA VI. At the same time, he’s the only one that “claims” that GTA VI will be released this year. It should already go without saying, but you should take what you just read with a grain of salt. We have heard plenty of rumors and speculation about the status of GTA 6 and Rockstar’s other upcoming projects. For example, in recent months, insiders claim that Rockstar intends to release a remaster of GTA 4 and a remake of Red Dead Redemption to tide fans over until the release of GTA 6. Ultimately, these are all unconfirmed reports and hearsay until Rockstar proves otherwise. In other news, Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, recently acquired Zynga for nearly $13 billion. Meanwhile, Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, is currently under heavy fire for the controversial comments that he made about the still-messy state of GTA: The Trilogy months after it was released.
